Air Handlers

Air handlers are an important part of any HVAC system as they help purify and regulate the air. Air handlers usually connect to ductwork that distributes the air throughout your home and back to the air handler. Air handlers can be found in a garage, closet, or attic depending on the unit.

Air handlers are generally created with:

Blower/fan - The blower/fan is used to help drive the air throughout the system and may come with a variety of of speeds to allow a greater range of air flow.

Heating/Cooling Elements - Whether or not your system contains these elements depends on the location and application of the air handler.

Filters - Filters are used to help provide the home with clean, dust-free air and are almost always present in every system.

Humidifier - Humidifiers are often found in homes with colder climates as continuously heating makes the air uncomfortable and dry.

Mixing Chamber - Some air handlers allow the intake of outside air to help maintain indoor air quality. The mixing chamber, along with dampers, helps control the ratio between exhaust, outside, and return air.

Controls - A necessary component of the air handler as it controls every aspect of it.

Vibration Isolators - These parts of the air handler help reduce vibration and are generally installed before or after the air handler and between the fan compartment.
