Air Conditioning Repair in Boise, ID
How do Air Conditioners Work?
Air conditioners move warm air out of your house while cycling cooler air in. The process is very similar to how a refrigerator works, without the confines of a small box or being in the kitchen. Cool refrigerant is compressed, becoming a hot gas under high-pressure. The gas is run through coils that dissipate the heat, condensing and becoming liquid. The liquid is then set through an expansion valve where it evaporates to become a cool, low-pressure gas. The now cooled gas then goes through another set of coils that absorb heat and cool down air inside your home.
There are three elements which make up the air conditioning system. They are:
- An outdoor condensing unit
- A matching indoor air handler
- Ductwork to transfer the cooled air throughout the home
